At The Mist, we are dedicated to ensuring that the domestic alpaca industry is sustainable and produces quality products. Genetics is our principal focus and we place a high emphasis on continually improving the linage of our herd. We operate on an alpaca-first basis when setting our farm priorities, and continually strive to provide a healthy and low stress environment.

Our breeding goals:

To breed for healthful, hardy, well-conformed alpacas from quality bloodlines.

To breed for quality fleece: dense, fine fibre with good character.

To breed to improve each alpaca offspring.

White Huacaya

At The Mist, we concentrate on breeding Huacaya alpacas which are the most popular and in-demand breed of alpaca in the world. The breed is characterised by a curly fibre with a dense fleece. We focus on solid whites. Our primary focus is to breed quality animals to boost your stock or to improve your breeding quality.
